Just days after developer Sandfall Interactive announced that the role-playing game Light & Shadow: Expedition 33 had sold over 2 million copies, Larian Studios' publishing director Michael Duce congratulated the French developer on social media platform X. In his post, Duce also predicted that Light & Shadow: Expedition 33 will become more popular over time and could eventually sell between 8 and 10 million copies.
Dus wrote: "I hope that now the word of mouth of the game will play out and it will reach its potential, and I say this to support the developers and their incredible achievement. Conservative estimates show that it can sell at least 6 million copies. It is even possible to reach 8-10 million copies.
In the sales data released earlier this month, we learned that "Light and Shadow" has achieved impressive results in terms of commercial performance. According to Alinea Analytics data, in the first week of the game's release, more than 785,000 copies were sold on Steam alone, which is twice the first-week sales of major role-playing games such as ReFantazio and Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth.
Light and Shadow: Expedition 33 is now available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms, and the game has also joined the Game Pass subscription service.
